Kenneth J. Halperin is head of the complex litigation and construction case units at WRSH. He also works a wide variety of claims in the areas of general negligence, premises liability, and auto liability. Ken is responsible not only for the litigation details of cases, but also the everyday management of cases. His main objective is to work directly with our clients from the very beginning, all the way to settlement or trial.
Ken makes sure every client gets the maximum amount of compensation by focusing on every detail of their claim likely to create a large settlement or verdict. This means ensuring all of his clients’ pain and suffering are documented – not only for the treatment they have had, but also for the treatment they will need. By doing this, Ken is able to maximize the recovery of lost wages and other collateral sources, like pension and annuities; he focuses on accurate calculations of future expenses his clients will need throughout their lives.
Along with several other attorneys at WRSH, Kenneth Halperin routinely lectures on the topic of construction site safety throughout New York City. You can find him at union members’ local meetings and mandatory trade instruction classes, educating union members on worksite safety and regulations.
Ken is also actively involved in the community, and in organizations that are important to the firm. He is a member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Institute, where he serves on the Labor Law Committee; and the New York State Bar Association. He is also the acting president of the Jewish Lawyers Guild, and a former member of the Kings County Judicial Screening Committee, where he was in charge of screening judicial candidates who were running for office.
Ken is passionate about helping people, and he takes great pride in performing pro bono work on behalf of the community. He has volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House in New York City to help sick children, and provided services for an organization that assists underprivileged women who need legal representation, free of charge. Currently, he works pro bono as part of the City Bar Association Cancer Advocacy Program, which provides free legal services to cancer patients who are having disputes with their insurance providers over treatment.
